Weight: 4.2

This was originally bought for a 2.5/280 I was building and I changed to a 300xs, so it sat in the garage. This weekend I noticed the "marine battery" was running low and figured why not try this little guy... weight savings was a little over 50lbs
I removed the old battery and box and just used a ratchet strap to hold the little guy in place.. water conditions Monday were pretty poor... high winds and 3-4ft washing machine chop.My GPS recall has us driving 67.77 miles. I did reset it once during the day early so it might be 10 miles off.
Voltage ran around 13.9 at idle, 14.? at speeds...
* Now I don't have a radio, no electrical.. my boat has a motor, hydraulic jack plate (used once yesterday) and engine trim.. no lights, no ship-to-shore, no nothing..
Overall it performed with no problems and no codes tripped...

I am using this set up 560 CCA with the two in parallel. 20lbs fits in a UL1 box.
Have spun my eng for a long time setting up the timing and it lasted for many cranking sessions till I had to charge it.
Pops my 2.5 135 psi right off................ can pull 24v trim off it if need be also.
Cant beat the price ether. http://www.impactbattery.com/moto-cl...m-battery.htmlLast edited by dwilfong; 09-05-2017 at 03:50 PM.

Ran these my 28 Skater for two seasons never had a problem till this year, then starting having weird electrical quirks ,got stuck a couple times this season when port motor wouldn't restart after stalling( looking back it's seem to of happened after trimming up and down several times both motors)even though sounded like it was spinning over fine Couldn't get it to restart out on the water, take it home put them on chargers motors would run fine.... but at that point I realized I was only running one motor at a time at home and wasn't duplicating the same scenario ,I think when I had them both running they were in a slight state of discharge after trimming ....battery voltage seem to dip at that point on low mid 13s at best. I wound up getting new batteries (odesseys).. I had those in there prior to the lithiums and now everything is perfectly fine since replacement -wound up being an expensive lesson for myself

Li-on as Lipo in RC boats, simple stop dead when hit a discharged limit. I just today was running around the Dyson vac house, (dog don't shake off the rolling around in the dry stuff until IN the house!). But it fast instant quit? Needed a charge.
That why I brought up watch yer charging system. And fuc "ammeters", give me a volt meter.

They still scare me with their tendency to explode/burn. Seems like every time I have one in something it ends up swelling up like a balloon. I have some for my RC stuff and store them safely.

Completely agree - My Milwaukee drill can sit for months without being used. I'll use it for an hour, put it back, and not charge it. And it stays at full voltage until it's nearly dead, not like the old batteries that just dropped and dropped and dropped.
And also agree with Bodhi about the walmart batteries - In Red Sharkboat, I have the biggest wally world batter they had available. Also, I have an amp, subwoofer, speakers, water pumps, radio, etc etc drawing a lot of juice. That battery will play the stereo system for upwards of 5-6 hours at the beach, and still crank the engine no problem.Last edited by home made tunnel; 09-08-2017 at 09:33 AM.
