Learned something new-the only thing I have to do with fish or shrimp is eating them. I have never tasted any salt content in that area and I was surprised when the guy told me that there was.

For me cleaning the boat after use has always been a labor of love. I actually enjoy spending time with my boats taking care of them You lake and river rats are spoiled
Ran my old Pachanga in Salt for ten years with no issues !!!! Saturday's were disappearing Island in brackish water and Sunday's were St John's fresh water !! Now my old steel trailer , that's another issue entirely !!! Lol

Yep, salt was the natural home for my Velocity and Nova before that and yes, it involves a more rigorous maintenance schedule but there are just too many great places to boat along the east and west coasts of Florida that are salt to miss out on them for fear of salt alone.

Dissapearing island and Matanzas for rafting up and cooling down or quick runs to St, Augustine for lunch will be in my Talons future followed by "cleansing" runs up and down the St. John's, it's just how we roll. It's a boat damnit, not a shrine.

That said, within 1/2hr pulling the boat out of salt water it gets completely flushed with saltaway, the stuff just works!

However, no steel trailers for me. Even if I never dropped it into salt water, where I live it would succumb to the salt air regardless. Nothing but aluminum trailers and SS brake systems will live down here very long.

I would own an aluminum trailer even if i only ran in fresh water. You deff dont want to dunk a steel trailer in salt water. It will be junk in a year
