Just my opinion but, I still think that 23 ft Mirage/Silverwing would swing the V8 better and you would be the only one out there with one.

The boat you pictured is not an STV, although the Mod VP STV looks similar. Some were built/optioned with 2 seats. Generally built to be race boats though...gonna be very light and not conducive to a V8.

The picture was taken from the guys who builds the STV's now, and yes its the T1. I'm just thinking a top like that over an STV bottom but in non canopy form, also built heavy for me to accommodate for the V8. Just thinking out loud and appreciate any and all serious inputs. The beauty of this project is that I can have it built just like I want it, drag it home, rig it with what I have and have fun with it, all for less than $15K since I already have all the rigging parts and motor. It will be rigged with hydraulic steering, set up for two people, and be used just for fun on nice weather days.

I can live with that too. Love the silver on this one.... They are good looking boats for sure.

That was Edwin's boat. That's a STV Euro Ski. Nice rig until he stuffed it. Pretty sure Kevin at KMC in Cali put it back together and sold it off though. He has a KMC Phantom 22 (which is the old DCB Mach 22) with twin 2.5 Merc drags now.

Can't put a T-1 top on an STV bottom. The boat you're looking for is an STV Modvp. Jack at full throttle can still build you one of those, I'm sure as heavy as you want it, with an optional second seat. He just built a new one for Brad (Chummy on here) and he loves it....pretty sure he has a thread going about it.

We rigged a Lightning STV with a 300xs when they first came out - it was a heavy layup boat and was a sweet package with that big opti on the back. Actually ran better than I thought it would.

You are really going to need a shorter mid though - 20" mids on STVs look huge, and then you'd have two more cylinders on top. CG's would be way too high for it to run really well.

As mach351 said the boat your describing would be the stv modvp witch is the standard stv bottom with the open cockpit (canopy style) deck. It can be made with two seats in tandem or you could have Jack build the quartershot T2 witch is the same as the T1 flame boat you pictured with an open cockpit/canopy style. That can also be made with two in line tandem seats if you wanted.

Here is a quartershot T2. Was andy drivers old race boat

Or have Jack build you a River Rocket with tandem seating. Just as cool IMO. This a lighting but the same as the River Rocket

Seems like everyone hears V8 and worries about weight. Truth is a v8 is very close in weight to a 300xs which have been rigged on a ton of Stv, every model numerous times over the last decade. They all run 110+ if they don't something is wrong. Not one comment about their weight
