If we destabilize NK the chi coms will swarm over the border, take over and it potentially will be a worse situation than it is now. Why do you think china has 150 thou troops on the border waiting? I think that we keep the pressure up and eventually "get" the fat boy when his guard is down. Not everybody in the govt is happy living with a nut job like him. There are those that want him gone inside his own staff and military.

Same reason as during the war, support. Remember they joined in on the fighting.

How would it be worse? China has functional intercontinental nuclear weapons... but they don't threaten to launch them at us every day.

Forgetting the "new " islands they now own? They are an imperialistic nation and they are very keen on expanding their empire. With china occupying NK they would never leave and then you would have an even bigger china to deal with. Right on SK's doorstep. The NK people need to be their own independent nation to put things right. Then eventual free trade between south and north korea would be ideal.

Need to get rid of the communist NK leaders and give it to SK so they can be one nation.

That will only happen over time as the north finds economic reasons to cooperate with their counterparts to the south. If shown a little compassion it may happen. Killing them softly will win out. They don't react well to force from what I have seen...Very proud people.

I suppose it's one way to narrow down where the leaks are coming from... tell everybody the carrier group is heading to a different part of the world; then wait to see what shows up on CNN that night.
