Sounds like the spoiled rotten group , born into a wealthy family, that don't need to give a $hit.

Adam
Not a cult or trying to say you do not know $hit. As far as my little opinion goes I can only comment in my twin engine cat world. I too owned 300xs's w/DBR mods etc on a 28. Then built 300x's for the same boat.
Now own a 30 with stock 300x's that has run 112mph. Motors are stock. The best set up 30' Skaters with 300xs's stock run a best of 102mph. Most of them with a load in the mid to upper 90's. Mine will run 105mph fully loaded.
I am aware of your test and I am sure the results are accurate in your application and you have a.wealth of knowledge and my respect also.
However I have never seen a stock 300xs beat out a stock 300x ever. Just look at the dyno hp on DBR's website.
Hp wins every time sorry.
Lastly you are correct this winter will be very interesting in the two stroke market. Lot's of stuff going on!!!!! I personally am looking forward to it...........
FYI CUDA no wealthy family here. It's called hard work and ambition.

No worries Ron, its all good and you know this. I just like getting everyone fired up a bit. Half of my close friends run X motors & the other half XS. Ford/ Chevy , Merc / OMC etc. All in good fun
Im a competitive prick like most of us, not affraid or ashamed to say it.
Cuda- WTF dude? I dont even know what to say.... Work harder maybe?

Yeah right , work harder.. just the opposite
Time to retire
I have a hand full of 2.5 race motors , don't run them for pleasure though.
To tell you the truth , I don't like all the noise , bought one of Todd's 15" mids said I could have the open above the prop exhaust same price as the
slower thru hub , went with thru hub that's what I call pleasure , quieter, slower, not sexy enough huh.
Become more considerate in my old age.
Raise those guy's TAXES

More hp and more rpm allows the boat to run faster. 300hp vs 330hp actual and 6100 rpm vs 6750 rpm. Two of my friends had 28 Skaters one XS and the other X motors. No comparison.
I get 1.5 mpg cruising at 90 mph in Poker Runs with triple 300X engines.
By the way Horsepower requires fuel no matter how it is delivered. At wot both engines should consume nearly the same fuel burn. Last winter My buddies 800 E-Tec (direct injection) Skidoo and my 800 EFI Arctic Cat snowmobiles both were nearly the same fuel mileage after a hard day riding. At a slow cruise the direct injection is far easier on gas.

10mph = 60hp gain because it is 2 engines.
I saw the same with my 28 Skater as Brad said also and he is 100 percent accurate in what he is saying.

Wow the old X vs XS battle. I LOVE my X. It needs a partner on my tub, but now that I learned what makes it run, I love it. some guys don't run a hundred miles a day or more. Some do. A pair of XS's on my boat would be a welcome change. I can't buy fuel on the water for my X. I really can't find it at gas stations either. My airport has the perfect fuel for an X. I try to run 93 Non Ethanol/100LL 50/50. I'm not putting Ethanol pump gas in my boat. The X looks better but Sitting in my boat I can't see it. The XS is like the fat sister to the hottie that I always end up with. More user friendly but not quite as much fun to ride.(yes I've ridden both) Less Maintenance but no ones head turns when you roll up to the dock. Conversely nobodies trying to steal her. Someone is always trying to dance with my X. The bottom line is, run what you like and can afford, Both motors have advantages over the other and you have to define what is acceptable to you. In a perfect World, Trump will get elected, I will be made Boating Czar and 100 Octane non ethanol will be available dockside, the EPA will be gone and Mercury will put 300 and 400X's back into production, in the U.S. of course.... Now for an important question... Whats the best oil to run in those Merc's??? LOL
