I borrowed a bravo prop once.

It met stones during an extremely low tide.

    Will never borrow again. Ever.

No, you make them leave a deposit of the value of what you loan them.......... say make them leave their '69 hot rod for a prop etc.......

I loaned my nice Sportmaster off my Allison to a friend and it unfortunately met a log on the Suwannee . He was a super stand up guy and bought me a brand new gearcase . Loaning things is always risky .

I learned a long time ago that when I loaned someone money, that I should just consider it a "gift". Sometimes they are good and actually pay you back. Other times they just do not have it to re-pay you with. Borrowing someones stuff that cannot be replaced as easily as money is more serious, and involves far more trust and confidence in the person borrowing.

My personal policy is I am not a bank. I don't loan money. If I can afford to give something to someone who is in a bad situation I will.
Same goes for expensive boat parts (props, gear cases, midsections.)
