That's it as I HAD it with MS BS. Greg, next me be a Mac. Been a couple months lap on 7 shop and went to check "new updates" as shut off install any, and I'll check. Was like 5/10 minutes, and very few critical.
Today? Guess that 5 years MS updates are true. I fired it up at 1:00 to check, and 3 HOURS LATER STILL "checking" Gave up as other things to do in life. Reminds me Polisi "healthcare act". Just pass it, (or MS just sell it) and we will see whats in it.

Hello, I just caught your Windows 10 thread here and no one is happy. I've been hanging on to my Windows 7 for as long as I can. I, like all of you, am not looking forward to Bill Gates of Hell Windows 10 upgrade. What I would like to know is where do you go to learn about other systems like Mac and Linnux. The due date for the free upgrade is July 29 and after that there will be a charge. I also read online that there may not be any further support for Windows 7.

I tried several different flavors of Linux... update/upgrade process was a pita; I don't want to have to work on and learn about the computer and drivers and plugins and stuff; I want it to work for me.
I'm keeping W7 as long as I can, if I eventually have to buy a license for something else it will probably come with the next computer.

Enterprise version really isn't usable for individuals. Or even most businesses so that price is irrelevant. Enterprise version should give a competent IT group more control over the feature updates. Note that I said "competent". Almost all business will be better off with Professional.
There are two registry entries that Microsoft published to prevent the operating system upgrade trigger. Has been a couple years ago but I can look them up if anyone needs it.
