No Tom, I was not there, I saw a pic in one of the earlier threads. The set I have is identical but it has
holes in the outer ends of the cones where it may have had a common "throttle type baffle set-up" to
control the noise. The casting numbers appear to be Merc (6-1100 & 6-1101). I don't have a 1100
block but I have a late 68 or 69 100 hp block that I may put them on if I can find a good crankshaft.
I saw the start-up vid and it was great. The finished engine looks perfect!!

Crazy. Never thought a 2nd set would show up. Any history where this set came from bridges?

We bought them at a local AOMC meet here in Paducah, Ky recently. The guy who had them was from
Duquoin, IL. This is all we know about them. A really lucky find.

I know where a Jan Schoonover Wing resides. a pair of 1100 set up with stacks onthat boat would be a neat tribute to him. But would have to do the internal engine work as well to make tham a matched set.

not too many of those sets were allowed out to the public / non factory guys back in the day. Probably less than 4 or 5 motors total were not owned and returned to Mercury. Only two non factory privateers had access to them supposedly.

Tom, I tried to find a set of these stacks when I was running a 67 1100 back in the early 1970s & came
up with nothing. I tried Hubbell & Quincy to no avail. We might be able to make some kind of a trade; We
need 15 pitch early SSM props in both left-hand & right hand, two blade or three blade. We also need a
short mid-section with top adapter and tuning chamber for the exhaust. We have not been able to locate
any more of this stuff around here. Send me a phone number by private message when you get time.
