Bottom Guide Vertex use 1.5mm Rings. Top Guide use 2 mm..

Im sure your aware but for those who are not, the Top guide rods work fine with bottom guide Vertex pistons, just have to stack or use a thicker wrist pin washer. 90% of the Prostock racers run them this way with no problems. Wsm are good but do not hold up as well for us under compression. Just my experience & some other Racers that have tried them.

TC yes im also aware of the thick washers i have some around here somewhere im thinking they was on some tguide conversions on the early 260 with Mahle pistons but that was so long ago i aint tried the super wsm pistons but i do member 10 years ago or so they was ultra cheap and had no coating you could buy the whole rebuild set with bearings for under 500

I ran Vertex in a 260 for literally 10 years with no issues. (2004 to 2014) Could not afford the proper piston at the time.

I have had no problems with the Vertex but they are on back order with no ETA. I might try going with the WSM but I don't like experimenting with customer motors.

I love the Vertex I have them in my 225 pm and in my highly modded steel sleeve and have turned them well over 9000 rpm and have held it at 8500 for a couple of miles.

Allison and Merc is there anything else?
