The v8 sounds different than any other motor out here. The f1 crankshaft is different from the fishing motor, I think. The firing order is 1-5-2-6-3-7-4-8

Fires 2 on the same side before it swaps banks. Interesting.

Here is a picture of the flywheel with the firing order on it.

So it is basically two v-4 cranks on top of each other with the lower crank positioned 45* behind.

Yes. Crank pins are lined up on 1/2, 3/4,5/6 and 7/8 but since it fires every 45 degrees number 5 is at tdc before number 2.
