    Question:
Is it worth the Long Island boys trailering to like Southhold and shooting across to the River and meeting in Old Saybrook?

Is there an address for where the ramp is or a Park name?

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Directions to where to trailer it to - ramp to use etc.

Not sure on the route that you take - is it better to leave trailer North - do run South and head back North to get trailer or vice versa.
Perfer to be as efficient as possible.

Cromwell is like 2+ hours from me.

You would have the most fun running up from Saybrook. It can be a pretty good size group leaving there. Your road travel is as easy as can be since the launch is right under the highway.
That area of water can be chopped up so the run can be a bit rough for awhile.
Big activity at Haddem Meadows with a grill running late in the day as well. If the Haddem group got ready in time they would be running along with the guys coming up river from Saybrook.
Cromwell is prone to be deserted.
I would not travel be road up to Hartford or Weathersfield, to short a run and you will be all but alone on the water.

This year low tide is around 12:30 so the run up river will be in a quicker current. The run back down will be in more of a standing water with the tide coming in.

Frustrations for me are I do not have my boat ready. Due to much needed shoulder surgery recently done I have not worked out a few bugs in the engine. Not to mention Sunday is our 18 or 19th anniversary, wish I could remember but my wife has a group coming to town. I have been reminded I am supposed to be here.
I could use getting away though.

I hear ya pal - it's my B-Day and was getting heat last night from the brdie - why - I have no idea - it's my B-day and it's what we do.
to be honest though - I'd still probably be going if it were her B-day!

Feel better and good luck with the boat!

I see that you've already been given some guidance. In years past there have been guys that have trailered out to Orient Point and come across the Sound. It's a nice ride if the wind is calm...
Trailering to Old Saybrook is a safer bet...

That has been overlook in the past. This year the no wake zones will be enforced though.
