Dude, we are talking two diff.."straight legs". Are ya talking extended "swing arms, increase WB". Ya losing me here? What I meant is the 57.."Straight leg", FRAME, the down tubes a HD, only the last 57 Panhead had that frame, rest were..(kinda before) "wishbone front down tubes". Heres what I mean, as the last "hardtail" HD, the 57 Straight leg frame, as in 1958, went to a "swing arm". Heres some more....(found the net search)

"In 1954 there were three different frames, the first two being 'wishbone' style, and in late '54 the 'straight leg' was introduced. As Robbie says, it ran until the first swing-arm frame came out in 1958. So, although not terribly "rare", your frame is indeed specific for those few years.
Best thing to do is look at the top motor mount. If it is original and unmolested, there will be a stamp on the right side; a number followed by a letter. The number will denote the year, and the letter will be the month. How do I know this? Chris Haynes says so, right there on page 37 of the Palmer book...!

Me the left my old Shovel. Toy run here and my friend Tommy with his 107CI Texas Chopper. Dude got Pancreatic cancer 5 weeks short his 62 BDay. Lasted 4 weeks, and gone ..never made it. Simple me is..."enjoy EVERY day, and if not.. ..(nuff me....)
