Same boat for sure. That's up at Hardy Dam..Where the big boys go and play.
That was my head tech's boat at work.Very smart guy who's been running fast for a long time.Use to run smiling jacks up here in MI.
He's looking to build a Euro with a turbo 4 stroke right now.He use to build alot of B.P's w/turbo's in the late 80's and early 90's.Back then he was running 120+ with a pro comp but couldn't keep the gear case in the water other wise he would been running alittle faster.

The tripple 24 was owned my by brother-He got it from Johnny Houston of MS. When we first got the boat it would accelerate like nothing you can imagine but ran about 112 on top due to motor height. We raised them up and ended up at a consistant 117. The boat was pink/blue/white when we had it, after Jon crashed it, Dan Filtenborg from Gun Lake (a friend of ours and owner of Smilin' Jacks North in Plainwell) bought the boat in its crashed state (it was bad-a piling at around 80 m.p.h.). Dan worked his tail off on fixing it up and it was an obsession for him to get it put back together. He added a bunch of weight to it with all of the re-glassing. The teal interior was given to him from Paul Eyde's 28 when he had it re-done, he gave Dan his old stock interior. Dan put remote water pick-ups in it, raised the motor height more and would run 127 with one person or five (didn't matter) it did it every time. He was going to change out the 1:87s for 1:62s but lost interest before it ever happened after he was taken in by the airplane hobby. The picture at Hardy is Dan with the tripple, Scott Harris had the Red/White 24 which he bought from us (it was the replacement after the crash-it came from Tommy Walker in N.J.)-Dan and Scott ran together all of the time. If you planned to beat Dan, you better have a big lake and some serious iron because that boat would be at 120 before some guys are on plane--it was serious. The batteries were mounted up front, and we ran another 40 lbs of balast when we had it out in Lake Mi.

is there any pics of the boat when it was pink? When i first bought it in 2004 i talked to peter and he said the boat was so ridiculously fast that he swore he would never build another one.

I sent you a couple of old pictures (boat was dam near perfect when we first got it). Dan had plans to lock mount the motors straight, mount a single rudder steering system, cut the skegs off flush, put the 1:62s in it and keep raising the heights in search of the top # for that boat (I was always and still am glad that he never got around to it).--Back the early ninties he used to scare the hell out of me with his pro-comp. 550 horse turbo 2.4 on alcohol--we used to run that thing with the trim fully tucked under and the tail would still air up like a hydro, the nose would lift headed for a blowover until he would back out of it enough for it to set and then it was up to 126 (beyond that the cle would blow out) before you could catch your breath. You had to see it to belive it, that thing accelerated with blown v-drives. I remember draining the gearcase after an hours use (the burned gear oil smell is still embedded in my head) and it was like draining black water from all of the torque put through it. Then when he got a hold of the skater, he was always in a "beat your buddy contest" with Tom Earhart-he wasn't right in the head either (both are awesome guys) Tom had a 1800 horse twin turbo 24 eliminator with a b-max drive that was absolutly insane as well. All in all, I don't belive that there is a faster 24 out there than the one you have-I also don't know of one that uses more fuel!!!--We broke alot of hearts with that thing (beating guys that had spent 300K+) and Dan did the same, hope you are as well.

Tom has the fastest for twins from what I have seen but the triple engine boat that we had was faster then anything on top and would accelerate like you can't imagine. As mentioned in this thread, Pete wasn't willing to put another one together. I just sent some pictures of it to Todd D. to post up on this thread. I have 97' 24 that is undergoing some changes that might make it capable of the mid 20s if all goes right-time will tell.
