    Thumbs up CMC JackPlates

I have 3 CMC Jack Plates and have never had a problem with any of them. One is a 65SS for stainless steel, it weighs about 50 pounds and is connected to an OMC 400 HP V8. Handles the V8 very well. One of my other CMC 65 has a Johnson 225 on it and is 7 years old and still works like a charm...So CMC's products are reliable too. And when I looked into other Jack Plates, Like Bob's,they would not warrenty the Jack Plate for use on a V-8...

Theirs is only rated to 300HP, doesn't matter about V8. Bob's is releasing our 350+HP jack plate this summer.

One note about my Detweiller 6" All-In-One plate is that the ram seal is leaking. Called Detweiller and was told my best option was to replace the ram with their new style unit (changed when the biz changed hands 2 years ago) for about $450! O-ring kit is $20 and may or may not fix the problem.

Just put a pair of the Bobs Machine 4" HD's on my Scarab, holding up my Johnson V8's. Haven't run it yet, but dad has used Bob's in the past with good success.

    CMC Plate

I bass fish several tournament trails and hit submerged objects often trying to get to the big one! hanging on the back of my Z-21 is a Yamaha HPDI 250 supported by CMC jack plate. I'm not exactly easy on the plate hitting objects and it has performed to expectations everytime! and all the time.

We are "unveiling" it at the IBEX show this coming Monday, and it will be available for sale after the show ends on Wednesday.

So much for the unveiling at IBEX, but I don't mind sharing with my buddies here at S&F!

I will be able to post pics and pricing after the show, and we have units ready for sale. Just another few days to keep you waiting!!

Please do post pics and how it differs from the HD unit you sell now. I just put two of those on my Scarab, to hold up a pair of 25" offshore V8's and they are doing a great job, but those are only 380hp Monty motors. The next one I need will be for a 450+hp version for my STV.

Also, please let us (me) know what the minimum setback available will be. Thanks!

My CMC did some grunting with the V8 on it. Not to mention that it's not rated for V8's, I think it's the 65.

Keith are you goung with the 4.0 or the 3.6 V8? And I would guess it will have a merc lower. It would be easier the 3rd time around.

4.0l is what Monty likes to start with. It will have a 2.5l Sportmaster with 1.62's.

Steven, I sent you a pm asking a question about my Bob's hydraulic jackplate.

It's a great plate, just like everything you guys do...
