Glad to hear Andy is alright my prayers and thoughts for a quick recoverery are with him. The reunion looks to be alot of fun. Wildmans boat is a work of art. Hope to meet and see some of the participants at the rumble. It is raining and cold up here. Keep the pictures coming. Thanks Rick

I added a few more pics about Andy's incident. The guys pulled his powerhead before the pontoon towed it back to the boatramp. They were afraid the boat might break up on the tow back. Some fuel and oil was spilled and some guy hollered that he was going to call the Coast Gaurd!!! Geeeze.....

OH MAN! So sorry to hear about Andy's flip -- what a bummer!!!! Especially hearing how he loved his boat so.

But as always, I am very happy to hear Andy will be ok!! Scary!!!

It does appear from the pics that I've seen so far that it was just the deck cap that suffered damage -- not the hull. Is this right?

Sure hope he can get his sweet ride back together -- maybe even better than new. The newest style river racer and ski racer decks both fit the older Jaguars.

If Andy needs anything, let him know we'll help with any questions he has.

    Question Good Point 17!

I know there's more shots floating around too. Maybe talk to Andy first.
After seeing and running with him a few months ago, and the condition of his rig I can't even imagine what he must be feeling right now. (not including being beat up)
Lloydster said he borrowed a vest (lost his) off of Tony B. right before climbing in. Wonder if he cleaned the SH*T stains off before giving it back??

    Thumbs up Thanks Skip

Thanks to all for respecting Andy's situation. He's very lucky to have only suffered minor cuts and bruises. Much less dramatic accidents have resulted in much worse injuries.

BK, The hull looks pretty well intact. I'm sure it will be worth repairing.

Everyone at the event was very helpful in the recovery of Andy's belongings and giving moral support.

To add insult to injury, the marine patrol presented Andy with a ticket.

    well instigator,

thanks for the comment, we have to include action17 in that comment because him and i talked about it and agreed on each others feelings on the pics i had, and like i said i shook andy's hand and was not about to bother him with my trivial self or cause him any grief.

i dont know the man personally, but the feelings i have when i think of how he felt are deep

action17 is a class act in my eyes

at least andy does have pics of it for when he gets to the point of wanting to see them, and thanks to kevin from fla andy has some good pics to look back on, i know if it were me when i was ready, i would be hoping there were pics to see and would want them to be good ones like kevin took

Thanks for posting all the pictures from the event, Skip! They are great~

Regarding Andy: The deck is total history -- but glad to hear his hull is still in fair shape -- I saw the picture of the boat (taken before the RBR) on Tony's website, and being 10 years old, that boat looked cherry!! He certainly took good care of it, so I know Andy must really be feeling awful. I sure hope he can get it put back together!

Does anyone know what kind of vest Andy had on? Boy was I thankful to hear he came out with only cuts and abrasions. Sounds like he apparently he made contact with the boat ---- OOOOUCCCH!!!!!!!:
did he go thru the deck?? ooohhhhh.

To all of you guys out there -- be sure you have the proper safety equipment if you own a serious hi-performance boat. The best jackets have impact material in the front -- to protect your rib cage, heart and lungs if you hit something on the way out . Some have cut-resistant ballistic material in the back. The stiff stuff, to help prevent sharp objects from coming thru.

They look cool, but capsule jackets don't count. sorry.
Capsule jackets/suits are actually designed NOT to float a body. The reason is because of several bad experiences from the capsule rescue teams, who encountered dangerous situations when drivers wearing PFD's got stuck strapped into submerged capsule boats. The flotation was so strong in those normal racing type jackets, that rescuers had to really fight underwater to pull a man down >>>> ....and out of the cockpit, when his boat was resting submerged upsidedown.

That's when the jacket companies began to make special "Capsule Suits", which have no chest impact material, no cut-resistance, and nearly no flotation. (rarely needed in a capsule).

They are normally bright orange for visibility underwater and are typically a "Jump-Suit" type (although they have shorter "jacket" versions too). They also have "handles" on the shoulders to make it easy for resuers to yank you out of your capsule, if for some reason you can't do it yourself.

There are OPC and drag racers looking for used Capsule Suits all the time. If you dont have a capsule but have one of these jackets, and want a jacket that is better suited for your type of hi perf boating....let me know and I'll try and help you sell yours.

Sorry to come on here as "Miss Safety" again, but when anyone wrecks, I get a little freaked out sometimes......wow, I'm so THANKFUL to hear Andy will be alright! This is the report I hope we hear everytime there is any mishap.

Lifeline doesn't have an online catalog yet, that I know of. This is a Security "Capsule" Suit:

    Smile My opinion...

What's all this talk about not putting up pictures of the wreck out of respect for this guy.

He's not dead for God's sake!!!!! In fact, I think
they are important for many reasons. A learning
experience for those idiots who don't wear life
jackets! (Tony mentioned that Andy just happened to borrow one thank God!)

And secondly, like it or not, events that include fast boats or cars come with an element of danger and a slight morbid curiosity of crashing. Thank God he is O.K. but everyone needs to be reminded of how dangerous high speed can be.
