propshaft is about 3 inches below the pad. I changed the tach setting to 6 today, then fired it up on the hose. The tach read exactly the same at idle. I took it out tonite and it was running ****ty. I ran out of gas last nite just before i came in, and my dad brought me some gas that was mixed with natural base oil and i was running synthetic. Hey it got me home and I had to do it.....9:30 at nite!!!!!!!!! Wow do i feel stupid for doing that now. So now it spits and sputters up to 5500. It did that last nite, and now after i changed the tach it does just the same thing at the same rpm reading. I noticed on the back of the tach that is says for two stroke outboards with 5p and 6p, then it says something about a seahorse and 4p,5p,6p....go figure

Okay changed my tach to the 6. It reads right now. I can spin it about 6 grand. Wishful thinking and first time driving a v-pad got me thinking i was going mid 60's, but really more like mid 50's. Had my first race today. It was like a liberator by fourwinns, he came by me at like 30 when i was just on plane, I heard him hammer it, so I nailed it and caught him then pulled a about two boat lengths on him. He then started to edge up on me and it took him about 1/4 mile to caught me. I knew the guy and he said his GPS read 55 so I had to have been 54.5
. Now my goal is to hit 65.
Also my engine isnt running right. At idle it misses pretty bad. I can nail it and it hesitatesthen kinda sputters and it seems like it clears out at only WFO. If i back off of it and let it be at like 35 hundred.....it misses and then slowly drops r's until it starts to get off plane. Its pissing me off!!!!!! Funny thing is, It did it yesterday so i cleaned the carbs today and put ehr back together, and it ran fine for about 20 minutes idle to WFO, then it steadily got worse.

Okay so far here is what i got.
On the 110 I can spin a 23 SRX about 6000 to 6100, and then I tried a 24 small ear merc chopper and got about 5600 to 5700. I ran next to someone who had GPS and he said we were running about 55ish. This seems about right. But now I want more!!!!!!!!! Also it porpoises quite a bit and I know its a viper thing, but what speed do these babys get on the pad. It seems like it porpoises no matter what at low 50's then starts to stop porpoising and even then around mid 50's it still is sometimes.....
Before, also I weighed the boat and trailor today, 1685 pounds with lifejackets gas, and all the gear. And thats a big ass steel trailor for a 17 or 18 foot boat. Still thinking that was high though seeing as how I went all light weight on all the interior and what not. And the floor was all new......
Heres a before pic.

Now I just need some actions shots!!!!!!!!! So any tips on gettin her to 65-70. Right now motor is on transom with prop shaft about 3.5" below the pad. Steering is tight dual cable, trim on wheel, just need a hot foot now. From everything I have read a good viper/115 setup should run mid 60's.............and I have a 110 that I was told is easily modded to 140 so.....

Another problem I am having is planing. With one or two people it takes off for a second then cavitates for a couple seconds then picks back up again. Is I have 3 people in the boat, it picks up then cavitates and wont get on plane until the back person leans forward. Both the props I have are not through hub either.
