Going racing! Dalla pieta 17 ,50HP

Hi !
Race in 8 days and engine are bolted to new Dala Pieta 17 thats all.....need prop,steering rigging everything....
needs help and feedback ! This is a boat made in the 60s !
Developed on the Como lake in Italy.

Hi !
By incident I have met 3 people who used to run Dallapietas in the 60s...The story is that 3 wooden beuties where shipped to Norway from the same factory that makes the Gondoles in Venesia ,Italy !
My son and I intended in the first V50 offshore race in Lyngør in Norway and it was a blast.... test race in Holmestrand 2 days before showed us that we where missing 2,5knots to our competitors.....I have struggled to get props to the boat .
I sent a mail in the evening to Olle Terjesen and asked some prop questions , I got a reply the last evening and I told him I wanted to test the prop he had . He called us 830 on the saturday and the race started 1400. we had a 3 hour drive to reach the race . We had a friend drive 40miles to get the prop, bolted it on and put it on water . The race was 30 nautical miles around a belt of ilands and scerries. Out from the depo to the race start we checked the gps and our missing 2,5 knots where there! 42,5knots. we where last in the start but we had good speed and where picking boats. There was one same type boat with a 50 merc 2 stroke that was ahead of us but after one round we almost got him .Then we did slow down and did wonder what direction to go then we where a lot behind the 50 merc again.....1 round later we where side by side out in the rough in the ocean ,we where going exactly same speed, they got to gready on the trim a couple of times and we where ahead .... 1 place !!! next race in 2 weeks....

I can promise you 40knots in a 17 fot out in the ocean are exiting ! Its just a scaled down in speed and size Motion 25 experiance . Like Ron Hill told me ....its not always a matter of speed but competition ;-)

Last race in the V50 series will be under the Oslo offshore 1 race in 13-15 august in front of 300000 people .

The bottom looks very much like Sonny Levi's Delta boats. Are they related?

I dont know....any web sites or pictures of that boat ?
The pad or buttom are round with straiks running all the way back. They raced it in the ON class with merc straight six .
Would be fun to see what it would do with a sst120 engine......
