Awsome! Right on Instigator. 101mph in a Vector with I imagine more to go!
Every once in a while a get an idea in my head that I should sell my Vector. But seeing video's like that and the red Vking going 100+ make me realize that I need to keep the Vector forever and just add more power!1996 Allison GSE /200XS

I never heard about the 101 MPH Bridgeport/V-king before. Gotta furnish details. Was it close to stock? What kinda gearcase? Cool video, I wish I had speakers on this computer so I could hear it.

Matt and I had plenty of hours in that boat. It was a full interior "stock" V-King. The engine was a stock Bridgeport carb running on pump gas. The lower unit was a CLE with a Bob's nosecone. That boat ran really well - Matt really knows how to drive. He knew how to set up the boat too - that's for sure.
On another note, my old Comp V-King ran 112 (probably 105-108 on GPS) with a Mod-VP. That boat was very light.

V-King Bridgport
Greg didn't you do an evaluation on that boat: CLE with and without Bob's cone? Just went to look for it and it seems to be gone?

Yes, we did. That was one of our first feature articles - back in 1999. I think I have it somewhere - I'll dig around for it.

Bill, my partner had one in the late 70's with a pretty tame 2.4 that was showin' a little over a hundred on the old Nordskog speedos, which was all we had then. It was a Vector actually, not a Viking. We couldn't get anything that wouldn't blow out and ran an old MC1 Speedmaster on it. This is the same Bill that later built the decked over comp Vector that I ended up with and also the same Bill that bought and rigged my present Yellow STV. Unfortunately, I think he's through with high perf boats. I was with him when he barrel rolled the Vector in the first turn at the backyards in Hazlehurst Ga, and he was with me when I blew mine over the next year at the same race. Both boats were black, and for both of us it was the first and only attempt at Unlimited V roundy round racing.

The HP of that motor is sure able to push that boat to near the 110 mark I'm sure. Its not that wild of a port job but a very VERY good job.
Boat "wetness" seems good ........... how high is the gearcase ??
