you picture didn't let me zoom in enough. but the red arrow should be the idle timming stop the blue box should have the WOT stop in it. it will be on the trottle linkage arm.
both idle and wot stops shop be on the air box. 2-6 degrees after TDC for idle 18 degrees BTDC for WOT.Don't lick my boat, It makes it sticky!

Just messing Jay, I was looking at the diagram and say that looks strange. Just the linkage "M" is attached to is slightly different.

OMC WOT timing
I've heard that the OMC WOT timing must be set under load. Will it be OK for Kevin to set WOT timing without loading the motor and if not, where should he set the timing for a margin of saftey WITHOUT a load on the motor? He just wants to get the thing running and sold in a few days to an e-bayer.... Safe for the buyer and uncomplicated for Kevin?
Thanks fellas......

charlie, "k" looks weird to me, on mine it looks like a bicycle tire pump handle.
B. Mac, I've heard that too. but I've never seen it anywhere. and how does the linkage know the difference? I've always set mine by pulling all wires except number 1 and having some one stand on the gass pedal (or just lay the lever down to WOT) and crank it with a timing light on it. when i was in the CG i hung of that back of the boat at 50. im not doing that on any of these beasts!Don't lick my boat, It makes it sticky!

Tie the boat down on the trailer real good back it way down the ramp, run the motor and set it that way. Quick and easy. Make shure you warm the motor up enough to set the idle timing.

Tie the boat down on the trailer real goodJust cause they "sank it" too deep.
Just in far enough to get water pressure

I sink them a little deeper to keep the prop from blowing out.
