I usually give all of mine the "sandbar" polish and rounding treatment fairly soon after I get them. That must be why they run so good!

Always worked for me! I think it's better than the soft log finish!

b.t.w. I might have forgot to mention, the soft log procedure will "lighten" your boat.

I’ve never paid any attention to the leading edge but I will check my JC case and compare to a stock one and see if it’s been worked. The case runs good though I have zero complaints with this JC lower

Found this one where the boat has a 3.2 300 Opti on it....Appears to be running good near 100.. Give the vid a few to get close ups.

In 1978, I bought a new Viking. To me, it wasn't any different from the 15 Viper I had before, just an extended nose. I was very disappointed

Because I ran on the Niagara River and on the weekends, It was very rough, making it nearly useless. In 79, I got a Venus and was very happy, because it was so much better in rough water, more aerodynamic and the little cabin, I won the 29-mile race around Grand Island the following year, which motivated me to get involved in racing.

I remember the stock boats came with large lips at the transom. I flipped my new boats over and blueprinted the pads before ever going wide open. I never drove them wide open with those big lips, I'm sure It was way different, I always read Powerboat Magazine for my knowledge, no internet back then...

I remember my dad coming home, and my new boat was upside down on the grass, with the motor hanging from a tree branch. He smiled.

The factory Havasu race boats were always 20ft.

Really miss my Viking. Never seen 100 with it however I did clock 92 at a race once. My Vector ran close to 100 after I changed the bottom to match my Viking. After that boat it was all STVs and Allisons. Hydrostreams are the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Loved and miss my V-King but it's found a good home and is in very capable hands.
My best was 112MPH with a pretty limp 245/260. I don't know how much faster it would have gone with more power but I felt like that was every bit that I could squeeze out of my setup.

Every setup is totally different but with the 15" mid, center steer and string steering it was VERY easy to drive and even more forgiving. The only thing I wish i tried was running it without the windshield (never had the guts to try)

This was by far my favourite boat I've ever had.
