yup, the boat is a 1985, not one stress crack in the transom.

Sure , 390's and 460's , 46 w/6-92's was a hoot w/20 people on board would accelerate so hard if you wern't holding on you would be on your ass rolling backward , Express cruiser , like a Magnum, Oh Yea

Not only common on Superboats but it was a well-known issue on Shadows which had balsa core transoms. It's been a minute but I recall superboats having plywood transoms and not needing reinforcement? In any case, today's outboards are bigger, heavier and generate more torque. Transom-to-knee reinforcements should be mandatory equipment on any of these boats.

Thats true, still runnin an old two stroke pro xs....would def build it up for a heavier 500r. But gonna run it as it is. The boat is 40 years old and not one stress crack...thats pretty good to me!
