...martin bielecki - the paint machine - body shop - van dyke street - detroit - sold him a very nice early 80's blue stripe 200 mercury V-6 outboard. martin was your father inlaw. wow. small world. not many people know about these tunnels. forget which boat he copied the bottom/hull from. it was sortof his own weird shaped deck though...

My guess is a copy of a Magnum Missile or Dutchman. I love the Vette.

...he did mention this. if not too heavy, and they were rigged properly, they probably ran o.k. for back then...

dad said the hull i have is the lightest of all of them. at just over 700 pounds it had a 18 gallon fuel tank up front to help keep the bow down. when i worked at the shop back in 1995 martin told me stories about how good it cornered and their days of racing guys on the weekends and i've wanted one ever since. after talking to my father inlaw and telling him we wanted to repaint it back to the original black he just laughed and said get to sanding the silver was painted over the gel coat so he says we can just sand it off and polish the black gel coat. so that is going to be my winter project.

I had a Dutchman back in the mid '80s, with a 150 Merc. I can tell you cornered hard. Was good hull in those days. Threw more than person out, when making a hard turn, without a warning. (Forgive the shabby pics)

i was able to make a deal on the blue one and will be picking it up later this week. it's not in anywhere near as good of condition as the picture as they were taken in 2019 and it's been sitting outside ever since. i'm getting just the hull and trailer and it will need a new transom and seats for sure but hey i found 2 of them still would like to find the other 5 just to know where they are now.
