Carb?
I’ve got a set of wh22 carbs. Would they be better than the later version 2.5 carbs? I only have later carbs from a 150. What should I use instead of these 2 choices?

Depends what you're doing with it... the drag racers like certain carbs but for a fishing motor funning r stock jetting, I don't think you would notice much difference?
WH22 looks like they came on a 1980's 2.4L 200hp motor?

I can confirm that WH-22’s came in the 2.4/200. For sure in 1983 and I’m sure some other years of 2.4/200 too. People here have said good things about them. I have a set that came with my 2.4/200, that I’m running WH46’s on. My 2.4/200 is a late 1990 build, so the WH46’s are year-appropriate.
So the WH22’s are 2.4 carbs, not 2.5. I think some racer types around here have mentioned running WH22’s on their 2.5’s but I forgot what specific reason they gave for doing so.

I tested WH22s a lot. Good carbs on a 2.5. 5 pedal stock intake. .074 idle jets. .082 mains. no vent jets. Maybe start richer on the mains. Every motor is a lil different.

they are a lot easier ta tune than tha wmh or wmv.. but tha new stuff seemed a little stronger once ya found exactly what they wanted..
22's were a little stonger on top but tha 20's pulled a tad stronger on tha bottom side.. this seemed true on either tha 2.4 or 2.5.. tha 46's were good all-around and seemed jus fine straight outta tha box... but like said if ya could get tha later model junk dialed in they were hard ta beat... jmo.Last edited by tlwjkw; 08-10-2025 at 04:27 PM.
