I don’t think so but it’s possible that does the same thing. The factory one is a weird low profile fitting.

Damn, and I can't seem to find the factory part in the Crowley diagrams, unless I'm just not looking in the right place. :-/

The part that's on there works fine. Been using it (with the water pressure plugged off) for a couple of years just fine. But now that everything is running nicely, I'm wanting to clean things up back to factory.

That is where I take my water pressure reading on both of my boats. I have always used that port in the block. Carter Powell

An OEM water pressure kit suggests that location. On later models a hose lead from top there to side of poppet cover. It was to bleed air out of cooling tract. That large fitting is the first place water from pump reaches to top of block.

If you aren't using it for a gauge, can't you just unscrew the elbow, toss the T-fitting, and screw right into the reducer?

Probably. That crossed my mind. But I want to rig up the pressure gauge, so I haven't done what you have suggested. I just wondered if there is a factory way to do it. Sounds like there is NOT a specific factory way to do it. So I'll probably just use the Tee that is already there for that unless one of you blokes has a slicker way?

This is the factory fitting for when there is a hose going to the poppet. Water pressure usually just gets a tee spliced in the hose. Any fitting will work. I could send you one of these if you want stock.Click image for larger version.

Yeah, it's fine that way... I just always go for the fewest parts and fewest joints.

Me too. Is there a cleaner way you would rig it, for both the cooling hose and pressure gauge?
