    Response

Finally got a carb motor running. It’s been a long time since I ran one. Big difference in throttle response on these versus injected. But oh so simple and less to worry about.

I will only add that in general, it’s not hard for an ordinary white collar, clean hands bloke like me, to keep a carb motor running well.

My old 2.0/150 had the top two cylinders down on compression* and up on leak down. Yet it still tuned up so it idled well, had great response, and no hesitation going from no wake zone, to full throttle.

*The top two cylinders were like 105 and 95 where the rest were just under 120. I still have that motor. It was still running great when I found a 2.4/200 to replace it with. I plan to address the top two cylinders when I can. I hate having old things around that aren’t ready for service.
