    2.5 200 F Block

Recently bought a v-king that has a 2.5l 200 F engine on it. I used to mess with some 2.4l stuff back in the day and cant find any info on the F mota. Is it a good platform to start with? How does it compare to the FF? I am wanting to get some more power out of it. Any help would be appreciated.

IIRC the single F is the 1991 7 petal steel sleeve mota. One year only model. Regardless any 2.5L 200 is a fantastic platform and more favorable than the 2.4 stuff

Read through all pages of that. I don't believe that the singe F stamp is only a 200 7 petal like the famed diagram shows.
I have seen multiple F blocks that are factory unmolested and 5 petal front. Particularly in the 2000s and newer. The F/FF/EE are always 200hp blocks which are a good platform to start with.

It is a 91 model. The heads look different than all of the other 2.5 that I have seen. I had a finger ported 2.4 that I had 6 2 bbl carbs on that ran pretty good. Stiil have the intake for the 6 deuces just was trying to see what the deal was for the motor I have. It runs pretty good on boat. I have seen 86 with 26 chopper out of it but need to get some stuff tightened up before i just hold it to the floor. Thought about maybe a Nik 245 if I can find one for a base and port from there. Appreciate the input.

If its 91 then its a 7 petal. Good motor for light hull imo.

I've had both on the same hull. I would start with the FF if I had a choice. It would cost plenty to make the exhaust chest of the F look and perform like the FF. Mike

Does the F share the same chest as the EE?

Yes, the F and EE are the same chest cut. And the 91 F had bottom guided rods.
Freshen it up and run it.

I believe stock heads back in 91 were 40 or 42cc heads.
Throw some new rings, reeds and 36cc heads and let her rip

That block can be modified to turn 11,000 rpms on an Allison Drag boat. So whatever you want, it’s there for the taking.
