    300xs Overheat

I'm getting a starboard overheat alarm on my 300xs. It lasts for just a second and goes into limp mode. Most of the time, by the time I get to the active alarm screen in vessel view, the alarm is cleared. But I saw it a few times! It happens right when I get on plan for the first time after the boat sits at night. Won't happen after that.

Replaced the starboard thermostat and gasket and alarm went away for a few trips and is back now. Any thoughts on a repair approach? Replace the thermostat again? Water pressure is good and coolant temp was at 122 when the alarm went off

The compressor is tied into the cooling/overheat system. There is a screen low on the left (compressor side) it can cause some weird stuff, including limp mode, pull the screen (compressor) and be sure its clean.

Like mentioned above remove lower cowl hose is attached to the strainer on the lower port side. Should check it once or twice a year depending where you boat

The fitting in the end of the hose is the smallest restriction also, and it's got a 45º angle in it that catches things. Make sure there aren't rocks, sand or seashells in there.
A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Also, if you can swap the temp sensors from port to starboard... if both sensors are good the alarm will stay on the starboard side; if the sensor is flakey then the alarm should switch to the port side.
