QuietI have several 2.5 midsections with cans removed and the 5 factory holes drilled to relieve exhaust/make more noise. I’m old and want a quieter engine. Does anyone have an easy way to block these holes? I don’t have cans to put back in.

They make a plumbing plug that has a wing nut on one size and tappered rubber disk on other side that fits in the hole or pipe and you tighten the wing nut and it seals. Got mine at home depot.

01-31-2025, 07:58 PM #6Those little snap in plugs come in many sizes, you need the half inch size. If you want to go cheaper they come in plastic and won't melt. Put a little JB weld on them or a little black silicone seal and you are done. I have done that to one of my motors.

I used plugs similar to these to shut off the upper water inlet holes on a v-4 lower unit. Tap the hole, screw them in. https://www.autozone.com/gaskets-and..._0_0?rrec=true 1971 Sidewinder 14 SS w Johnson 90 v-4
