    lifted from their Facebook page:

Our customer completed his season and increased the Yamaha project boat one mph to a top speed of 117mph..great work Blake, can’t wait to see what you have in store next year with a winter of tweaking.

Depends on the build, glass, carbon layup, 100-110+.

My glass Tuff with 300R is at 107, we need a prop (ordered ) but expect it to run 110 plus..
That boat is Tuff’s demo, It is light and cut down. Not taking from its speed as it is FAST but it was also designed to be FAST with A LOT of tricks!

What does cut down mean? And I know a magician never tells the secrets to their tricks, but I would venture to guess some of the same kind of tricks you did to the drag boat the Johnson's got from you, eh?

Hull sides are cut down, less freeboard and weight.

Does that require a different mold? Would be interesting to see the two boats side by side. I have very little knowledge of laying fiberglass. More of an expert at putting holes in it. I'm still holding out for my lotto numbers, so I can order the I/O version. Although I'd probably blow through the winnings before the 5 year delivery.

    Best I can do
it’s all carbon fibre. It is cut down before the deck is added in the capping process. Cannot be done with a traditional
shoebox fit like the stock boat beside it

Cutting down a hull seems tricky to me. First, how do they cut down the sides evenly all around the boat? I've been to the Tuff factory and I did not see any big cutting machines. Second, once the hull is cut down, its a bit shorter at the bow than it was before. How do they get the deck to fit?

Draw a line and get the skill saw out. You need to visit the Skater factory in Michigan, Pete is the master of flat decking and custom freeboard of choice. The lower you go the more you need to trim the deck, shorten the bulkheads, cut the liner sides down, etc. Its a process compared to something built with traditional molds. We reworked the back deck section on my boat that is being built and its amazing the hours of labor that a "simple to me" modification creates.

I have a million pics of the process…. And it is a process!
Like Skater, they will cut up a boat to make changes until it run or looks like
they intend. This is part of the reason they are in a class by themselves. And they are unrelenting, more cool boats are coming
