I wonder if the Nord Lock would eat a trench into certain metals? Looks like it might need a flat washer to stop eating a trench???

I put 16,000 hrs on two different logging attachments that used lots of Nord Lock washers. They work great on steel till the washers wear out, or removed a couple times. Using a flat washer under them defeats the purpose of the locking feature. I have limited experience using them on aluminum, but did install them in a .22 rifle that I was having problems with the action screws rattling loose in an aluminum chassis. A few thousand shots later they haven't moved.
