18th Annual Suwannee River BBQ , Party and River Ride November- 7th - 10th 2024

Wow 18th Annual Suwannee BBQ and river Ride ! Time to get ready for the BBQ and Party, River Ride November 7th - 10th, 2024 We will be having the usual big BBQ and Bonfire Friday and Saturday night, so please come by and have fun.
Covered dishes etc. are welcomed and bring your favorite beverages. We will have water and a few types of soda on hand.
We will be cooking out Friday and Saturday nights.

Please do not bring your boat to the property as room will be at a premium for parking. Bring your chair for the firepit.

Local hotels are as follows with the Days Inn in Chiefland with lots of boat parking and right next to BBQ Bills for breakfast. Quality Inn also in Chiefland just south of Days Inn. Then the Park Inn, another smaller mom and pop motel, then the Suwanee Gables just over the bridge across the river on the right on the water with a boat ramp. https://youtu.be/nd7JEHwGScA

Regrettably the BBQ PARTY has been canceled due to hurricane damage from Helene . Water is high but not in flood stage . There is a chance a small group will be running the river but we can't pull off the big party at this time . Hope everyone understands.

I'm looking at logistics of getting up there and place to stay. I was gonna try and head up Friday and Saturday.

I USED to stay at the cadillac, but its too far south f 10or me. im gonna call ellys, see if their open, not washed away. gornto has camping, tents, shelters, ramp/dock. gornto p is 10 mi south of the split.

Update." river is dropping fast and will be good to run . We wont be having the giant bbq but will have snacks and soft drinks so bring your own booze. House will be open and fire burning thursday-saturday nights .

River is looking good , weather also is looking pretty damn good with 80s during the day and low 60's at night ! Hope to see everyone there!

A friend did 80 miles on the river today and reports less are really good., lots of shoreline showing for spots to pull up and virtually no debris ! This is great can't wait . Anyone needing additional info please pm me .
