In 2008 I rejoined a company for a second tour of duty. One of the new guys they had hired while I was away was about 5'9", 330 lb, and 50, my age. I sort of felt sorry for him for being so fat and out of shape. We became work friends and as it turns out, he was an age group record setting power lifter who could bench 500 lb at age 50. Yes he worked out every day. I'm still not sure about going into old age carrying that much weight.
