do you live on the water or own vacation property on the water

I have always been fortunate enough to have a cottage, now a home, on the water. It makes boating much more accessible. For example, yesterday when I got home, the neighbor's grandchildren wanted a boat ride. I dropped the ski boat in, took the kids for a quick ride, and was back in the house in time for dinner.

Are most of you trailer guys or waterfront people?

I keep my SS2000 just down the road at my mother's cottage.
The kids got a ski boat ride as they are too little to see over the sides of the SS2000. They love going fast, but its a better experience when they can see.
We still have an old school pipe dock. These are far less expensive than aluminum docks, but of course wood doesn't last forever. For me, a pipe dock is part of the experience.

Always lived near the water in MD but never waterfront. About 10 years ago wife and I bought a small home on canal 23 miles from KW on Cudjoe Key oceanside. It’s not a luxury home but it fits our budget and lifestyle perfectly. Short ride up the canal feeds into Cudjoe Bay with immediate access to the Atlantic or Gulf. The red circle is us.

Home on the water. Still work a couple of days a week about 80 miles away, but at the lake 60-70% of the time.

LOL, my family has only been here 77 years. On the plus side, we have two places now, the house my wife and I have, and the original family place. More dock space that way

We were very lucky. My grandfather initially bought a turn of the century cottage on an island in the middle of the lake in 1935. My father sent paychecks back during the war and we ended up with a 1/4 mile of shoreline & 60 acres of land!

Water front property prices on the lake or beach are almost prohibitive. Unless someone has a high income or inherits the property,it's almost out of reach for most folks. There is some good deals in our area on river front land.
