lower unit on the left is on the left is a c3 non ratcheting, the gray case in the front is a big bearing ratcheting C case, and the black case in the back is a big bearing ratcheting C1 case.

Thats right. I remember hearing that some of the C1 cases had anodes and they were ratchet cases. They also had big bearings. I believe all the C2-C3-C4 cases are small bearing non-ratchet cases. But can be modified to ratchet. But I could be wrong.

The case has an anode, not exhaust vents. That tells me it's a small bearing non ratcheting C2-C3-C4 case.

Not true. C1 ratchets, big bearing and anodes. Thats why I said what I said about the C1 and up facts cause I see the anode but that doesn't tell you if its a big bearing or not.

I'm near Raleigh nc. Near I 40 and I 95 interchange. Frank Mole lives 10 minutes from me. I could look into him taking down your way on his next trip. At least closer somewhere. He's up and down i95 quite a bit.
