I love the first comment on that video, "2.1 litres/2 cylinders & 50 h.p. more than 2 strokes should be faster!"

I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.

It says 436# "dry weight"... plus 6.6L of motor oil and probably a liter in the lower adds maybe 15 pounds; so over 450 pounds?

I looked over that spec sheet: Digital throttle. Smartcraft PCM, 12" mid, Integral trim system, 436lbs, Overdrive, 6800 RPM V8 4 stroke EFI 250hp+, 89 Octane. We have come a Long way. I need to drive one of these.

    Thanks for posting Greg

You have to race what you produce presently, not what you made 30 years ago.

Today torque is very important and efficiently

Those little 2 strokes had neither

Have you ever seen 45 ft outboard boats before?

Found a price list online. List on the 360 is 57K. But they sell for 53K. The 200 is 43K. So, figure the 250 will be about 46K. Still way too expansive! And you have to have an APBA # to buy them.

Appreciate the info - I had a nice 200 xs gen 2 and its mannerism was very refined compared to the 280 I had . So I can only imagine what the 4 stroke stuff is - Next generation improvements .
    Nice nice stuff .

What's the cost to put a fresh 12" 2.5 together nowadays? With clamp, can, gear case.. can't be much less than 20k these days, and an S3000 would be a lot more. Doesn't take many cranks, pistons, ring sets, etc. to start getting close to the APX..
