From what I hear, the new to USA C3 class might get a rule change,

The construction safety rules for the C3 class were just announced. They have increased the driver protection area

I'll get some pictures if I'm allowed to

But Todd's new 24ft race boat looks way overbuilt for an 80 to 90 mph class,

and I hear the guys who want to race in this class want to start fresh with a higher HP motor,

We are in New Zealand.
This is our Mod vp class which for us is outboard mono hull unrestricted.
There is only one boat in the class that has a cockpit cell.
This particular boat won't race again until it has a cell fitted.
In this country there isn't a lot of money in the sport and most Vee hull race boats double as social ski boats or ski race boats.
A dangerous situation in hindsight.
The young driver of this boat spent a month off work recovering after this crash.
Boat got minor damage, mainly to the engine cowl and carb linkages.
The driver was given the option to move to F1 next season but opted to stick with the mono hulls with a cell fitted.
