    Single piston trim senders

There are 2, right & left in clamp, i think 1 is for tilt limit, other to gauge. dont know which is which. i think the port side re-stat is for gauge. the plastic ear broke off. are right and left identical parts? the wire i. d. sleeves are faded out. its for a 83 150 v6, single piston. local shop is of no help, thanks

the limit switch is exactly that , an on/off switch! the sender is a variable resistor, says right on the cover! pretty sure one from an alpha can be made to work! I usually take them apart and swap parts over to fix them! [not from the limit to sender} the bodies are the same the disc is different!

THe alpha has a gear, mine a blade. pretty sure the port one is trim, starb is limit. all h.d. clamps are not the same,i have two. my senders are sealed discs look identical. motor is 84 150. other h.d. clamp has no recess for senders. 150 has a pull knob there, to lock full tilt

my mistake, the single ram 81 does run a sender with an arm! I've got a couple in the shop, not sure if i can get at them to check what's on those!

if you can't find a sender and still want the gauge working,
there's more than one way to skin a cat, my twin engine lift is connected to a manual choke cable and that cable runs inboard to a sender mounted on plexi with a bell crank to operate the electric lift gauge!

I wouldn't spend another minute on a trim gauge. Bluewater and others make nice cable trim actuators. There are a number of options for dash side of cable.

I value a good trim indicator second after a water pressure gauge as important, followed by a tach, speedo and volt meter.
