I am trying to figure out what year the picture above from OMC Belgium is..
First..its probably just before Paris 6 hours…..
1973 Sanders won with a Johnson V6.
1974 Sanders drove the Johnson Rotary.
1975 Sanders drove a Johnson V6 so I can’t figure the year out.
In my memory Sanders never drove a Evinrude V6 Super Stranger in the Paris race..???

More from Paris 6 Hours 1973.
First race ever OMC raced the new V6 2 liter cross flow. (Two Johnson V6 Stinger GP and one Evinrude V6 Super Strangler)
Picture shows the overall winner..the #20 UIM ON class Scotti-Craft/Johnson V6 Stinger RS in the wet pit after the race with OMC's Mouse in the cockpit.
You can read the drivers name on the boat..Johnnie Sanders - Billy Schumacher.
Second picture is the result..four OMC in the top..

A very nice "barn find"
The new owner purchased this on EBay.. It's an early OMC SST 45 gear-case

Very creative indeed, but best not be placed on a night table beside your bed. At 4:00AM While blindly reaching over to find the switch, one could end up with some serious cuts & stitches!

More lamp info....
Hi Lars,
Most of the retirement lamps were made from the production 25hp (split) gearcase, mounted upside down. Many/most of them were made by the crew at the Stuart Test Center.
In addition to Don Henrich's lamp, I am aware of two other lamps that were made from a 45SS gearcase, mounted upside down.
Jack Leek's lamp was made from the early 45SS design, which was smaller in size and did not go into production.
See attached photo.

We lost Billy Schumacher a few months ago..R.I.P. my great friend.
Yesterday I did find a FaceBook conversation with Billy 3 years ago about Paris 6 hours 1973. He was pretty active on my FB OMC page.
Here it is..the first two pictures.
