I remember Tom Wood drove one here in Canada in I think 1977 or 1978.

Hmmm................if Scotti lost his life in 1974, who continued to run the shop afterwards? Were the pickle fork boats conversions? When you look at this photo, that would have been a heck of a lot of work just to get rid of a little lift (nose cowl, air fences, center deck, etc). I wonder if OMC V6 power had anything to do with the change? Only way you could get a new Scotti hull in the USA back in the day was thru Barry Woods. Another question...........I can't remember seeing a Scotti hull with Merc power either?

This is Paris 1974 with Woods/Jimbo driving a Scotti pickle fork Rotary. So, Scotti must have been building pickle forks at that time. I believe Posey was driving another one, but lost a sponson when he hit the turn boey.Click image for larger version.

This is a picture from the Scotti-Craft factory in Italy. I think its from late 1973 and this is the boat Scotti raced in Paris 6 Hours same year with the brand new Evinrude V6 Super Stangler 2 liter.
    Its a pickle fork.

Molinari ran a 19ft boat for the 1977 London GP and Bob Hering drove a Molinari the same as Jimbo drove but managed to submarine his outfit.

I did see some posts about Mercury's "secret race test" of the first V6 in Koblenz, Germany late 1973.
(Some of pictures used is from me I got from my friend in Norway. He was in Koblenz)
Sealed engine cover etc..This race was a week or two before the Paris 6 Hour race same year.

OMC went straight to Paris with the new V6.. (Two Johnson V6 and one Evinrude V6)..the 1973 Paris result was brutal for Merc...!!
The new Johnson 2 liter V6 was first and second in Paris 1973..Third was an OMC V4..

See the headline around the world..
