More Team Renato Molinari in Drammen, Norway 1980

Renato is ready to race in Drammen. Evinrude V6 CCC 3 liter looper.
He is smiling so I guess testing was great.

The driver of the second red Molinari #161 was Lillo Colombo. Red arrow.

Jimbo McConnell & Ted May raced the #16 yellow UIM ON class Molinari/Evinrude Starflite SS in the Berlin 6 Hours 1969.
I guess some technical issues Jimbo was trying to fix at the shoreline..

Hopefully it was on the right side of the borderline and not in East Berlin..!!

Yes..Jimbo & Ted won the Berlin race 1969.

I believe that was 1969 as Jimbo took my place in 1970 co-driving with my Paris co-driver, Ron Hill. I couldn’t get the time off from work so Jimbo took my place, they won. It hurt not being there.
in 1971 won I was leading Berlin & broke at about the 2 hour mark drifting in to East Germany where gun boats were patrolling. Got picked up just in time by a race pick up boat before the patrol boat got to me. CRAZY experience.

Another victory for Jimbo McConnell & Ted May in the Berlin 6 hour race. This time in the #5 UIM ON class ScottiCraft/Evinrude Starflite SS.
(Back then it was called West-Berlin..!!)

It was 33 degrees when the Race started. Earlier Mouse had to thaw the water pickup lines with a blow torch. Jimbo is in the middle with the Indian Hat….. Others in the photo are Mac McCune, Alan Yaw, Johnny Sanders, and Rich McKinley. In the milling before the start of the Race, Jimbo took a big wave over the nose of the boat. It landed in the cockpit and he was soaked…… and had never been so cold in his life.

I will attempt to attach a picture from Berlin 1970 with Jimbo at the wheel, Ron Hill was his co-driver. You can see on the dash his name above Jimbo's. Same boat Ronnie & I drove in Paris. The medallions were given to all registered drivers just as the flags were at Paris. I will also try to attach a picture of my 1971 medallion, can't find my 1972. It seems the T*A*R*T team entry in 72 was there but we didn't actually race as the water was extremely rough.

Evinrude - Johnson outboards. Facts, history, racing and OMC.

Evinrude F1-V8 racing-production V8 designed by Lars Strom.
A 4.5 liter Evinrude E-TEC V8 powerhead mounted on the 6 inch OMC racing mid section.
It's a 3.4 liter V6 G2 with two more cylinders. Same pistons etc.

PS..I did this over 8 years ago (24 June, 2015) and send it by email to BRP's President José Boisjoli.
I also made many phone calls to his Secretary asking for him but no response.
