    260 Big Bearing Crank?

I was wondering what year Mercury started using the Big Bearing Crank in their 260's?

I'm looking at a early 1995 PP 260 and wanted to know a little more about it.

    Thanks in Advance!!

LL was the 260 small bearing
PP was the 260 big bearing

If he really has a PP it should be big bearing. Not sure about the year 1995 or when they started big bearings...that was before I was around this. But...I never seen a PP that was small bearing and I've seen a lot of them. I would believe it more if you told me it was a 93 LL and big bearing, cause someone milled the top to be a big bearing....but if your 1995 is really a PP, or if the PP is really a 95 then I would bet its a big bearing. But I did think that they started big bearings later on like mentioned above. Check the block build date stamp.

I just looked it up in mercnet and they started big bearings in 1995. Beginning with serial #0G367000 they were big bearing in June of 95

Thanks for the feedback!! The motor I'm talking about is one I'm looking at purchasing and I don't have it in front of me just yet. I will check the date stamp If I can and post my findings!

    Thanks again for your feedback!
