    Faceplates?

    On those older motors the top and bottom cowls were bolted directly to the motor. When the faceplate was removed ram air could pressurize the inside of the wraparound. On my first couple of 50s it was good for about 1/2 mph. Wasn't legal in APBA races. When they went to the suspension cowl setup it didn't help at all.
