    Cosworth Castings Merc 300

Does anyone know if Mercury ever produced a 'racing version' of the 3.4 liter Cosworth Castings 300 hp 2-stroke outboard?

Found this post from 2010. It references the 250-275 HP Merc Cosworth "racing engine block". https://www.oldmarineengine.com/disc.../5/140393.html

The race motors also were 1/8 bigger bore, from 207 CID to I think 244 CID.

That I know of.... no.......3.4 race motors used merc castings with steel sleeves. Cosworths were made after the racing motor time line. They were better castings and 25 pounds lighter. Also had better top main bearing and taperd piston pins. Art pistons instead of trw forged ..
