Dammit.
Thats the funniest thing I've seen today.
I know people who would do that.
Top of the block is not a good place for a water temp sender anyway cause that is on the immediate supply side of the water. Before it has a chance to cool any of the engine really.

put the temp in he head. Water pressure off the block or divider plate.
