Buick and olds had siamese center port heads. All but impossible to get a column working on those hence the big torque, and low rpm peak no big hp. Pontiac on the other hand had some wicked factory head castings and they could spin decent. Granted no 7000rpm type stuff but easy 6

Olds BB heads, Iron D , SBO W head , Eddy Al, and Wise Performance on a SBO DX block in video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RfEf7vLdFWc
Proper set-up Olds BB stock W machine 430+hp stock heads.
Unless it's a RA 4 , Pontiac weren't much except they had big valves, 4x 455 head was ok.Last edited by FMP; 06-04-2023 at 09:41 AM.

The new Mustangs are sweet. I rented a convertible and man did I love it! Awesome car.
I hear you about not getting a V6 but for me it came down to price, availability of low mileage cars and the fact I drive an average of 4500 miles a year, it didn't make sense to me.
The last car I rented was a Challenger with the 5.7 Hemi. It was fun but not as much fun as that Mustang.Last edited by CDave; 06-06-2023 at 01:18 PM.

My brother bought one of those as his first new car, it was an odd car for sure. He gave me his 1988 Starion esi turbo (anyone remember those?) and he traded a toyota I had on the t-bird

The one he gave me in the early 90's the head gasket went, pretty common in those. It was cool for the 80's and 90's. I found one (conquest this time) a few years ago 26k original miles and clean but it was a quirky pain in the ass. I did take it to the Mopar nationals in Carlilse Pa., since the Conquest was a dodge technically. The nicest one I ever saw was a chevy 327 swapped one-no mitsubishi quirks...did I even spell that right lol
