Palatka River Run April 27 - 29

Come on up to Palatka, FL and join the river run on the St John's river down to Salt Springs and Silver Glen . The river is big and wide and is the largest rivet in the state ! There is a submerged sandbar just a few miles south of Palatka city docks and ramp that is a pit stop on the ride down to Lake George and the springs . Bring plenty of fuel as it is a long ride ! You can stop at Renegades on the river for lunch and refreshments. Get out the map and check it out . Evening parking lot party at Crystal Cove resort. Look it up !

Hotel at Crystal Cove is booked due to limited space people called earlier. The outside of the hotel is still closed this is why there are limited rooms. Below are a list of hotels which are 2 miles from Crystal Cove

Boat ramp is open the whole weekend, $10.00 a day to launch, party in the parking lot both nights grilling, bring what you want to grill and crockpot meals both nights. Cant wait to see everyone!!

Do a search on Palatka or look at the bottom of this page for previous runs from the last 15 years . Very informal not a follow the leader deal .

I'm not going to make it, but for folks making plans, there's a public ramp immediately next door to the Hampton inn. Very convenient.

Came out to the Silver Glen Saturday, there were a lot more boats than I expected. Lake George got pretty choppy on my way back, glad I made it out before the weather.

I am planning on going to Silver Glenn on Thursday [4th]. The wind is supposed to die down but who knows. The wind forecasts have been off recently and I no longer can get FAA forecasts due to not having an N number to request with [I no longer own an airplane] and my Transplant did away with my Aviation Medical Certificate. I alternate between Silver Glenn and the Suwannee according to how much wind is forecast.

I hate to say, but I did not take any pictures. I will see if either of my two Lady Friends took some. I am still trying to get more organized again after my topsy-turvy post-transplant life recently. I do seem to be getting better though. I hope to go back to Silver Glenn or the Suwannee next week.
