Any more details publicly available? Props, pitch, engine mods? Hard to believe stock 450's can do that. Seems it would take 38 or 39 pitch at 6500 with low slip. Impressive.

I understand the ease of operation angle, but other than a brunette chick in a slinky black bikini, there isn't much sexier than the look of a big cat with the inboards growling. Coincidentally, the bikini chick seems to be part of the package. What's the difference in midrange and handling between the IO/outboards at that size? Sufka showed me pics of your IO cat, it is a flat out gorgeous boat. What these new motor/ hull combos are doing is pretty wild. Waiting to hear aboot your Talon.

The I/O boat can take rough water better simply because of the weight. However a good driver can make an outboard boat handle rough water very well, in opinion just not at well as a I/O. As for pictures how about pretty girls on an inboard cat. My wife on the left and my sister at a Poker Run when I still had I/O MTI.

You can go buy these boats turn key, pump fuel, insure them, take passengers, run on real lakes "not just protected sections of a river or race course", they hold enough fuel to run a 250 mile range, anyone with common sense can drive them, they have storage, they are loaded with luxury and convenience, you can finance them if you want, they are under warranty, etc. etc. etc. (none of which you can do with the boats mentioned). There are a lot of people who have had fast boats on this site but very few were usable and that is why they are going away or being sold to drag racers and or sand bar lizards.

Brad is 100% spot on with the analogy of a shifter kart and a Bugatti, they are about as similar as an STV and 36 DW. Again, hats off to Mercury Racing and PBC. We are looking forward the new product and its increased results "coming soon to a theater near you"--The race never stops....

    Joe
    I never disputed any of that ... did I .. ???

I see I have to narrow the field of view a little tighter.

The fact is that we will see 150 mph outboards in the near future

Lets go with just : "150 MPH outboards" my point was and is .. already been done.

A fact ... is something that has already been proven.

If my aunt was my uncle ... (might not hold as true in this day and age) falls under the realm of "speculation". Much like when the talk was that a pair of 300r motors would run 140 mph .... LMAO .. swing and a miss on that one .. don't hate , because I have an impeccable memory ..

GeeWizz .. a shifter kart and a Bugatti are not one in the same. Thats pure rocket surgery there .. Inboards, on a outboard speed record thread. I can hear the whining now if I said my car went 209.89 from where yur sittin to just across the street from ya .. whaaaaaaaa this is a boat site ..
I don't think STV's can run @ LOTO ... a quick look at the rules would verify that.

Chaz = thinkin a paper pusher would know where to find that information ...

Hey .. BTW, ya'll hear ... a couple of boat's with little azz 2.5L motors already been 150+ just sayin ..

I don't want to get the "facts" wrong but D.W. , P.B.C. and Mercury Racing teamed up for a max effort run .. and came up 8 mph short of what the little boats ran almost two decades ago .. a simple yes or no will suffice ...

Odd he didn’t put a picture up of that yellow STV or he could have just found the thread from 20 years ago when Dixon ran it - tell us how that STV runs on an average Saturday in LOTO, Havasu, or the West Coast of Florida. Sounds fun.

This boat is one that they bought back from a customer and is just one of the current demos. I think you can buy it today as is "this is a normal combination with a good operator making a clean pass". They had the boat at Havasu for the week as a demo./display boat. They do have access to numerous propeller combinations and a very talented staff that prepares and maintains several race boats.

Sorry to inform him that 140 was never quoted out of stock 300R combination- (130 yes), modified 300R combination (140 yes), are they completed yet--no. Stay tuned.
