Center Steer - Motor offset to one side

I recall seeing a post about this but can't seem to find it by searching...

I'm rebuilding the transom and noticed that the motor mount holes are offset by 1-1/2" to the starboard side. The boat was originally rigged for left side steering, but has been re-rigged for center steer. When rigged for left side steering, the prop torque was ridiculously bad and the boat would lay over to the port side. It seems that the change to center steer has fixed most of that.

It's a tunnel configuration, similar to a HST, but hull weight is approximately 1000 lb.

Now is the time to make any changes to the mounting configuration if it's needed. What is everyone running for motor offset to one side?
