Been using it since nearly the beginning. Fun to play with. It’s fun to get answers knowing it is a machine, coming up with it’s words on the fly, as opposed to just quoting text from someone else.

I have shared ChatGPT to my fellow engineers (both at work and my neighbors) all of them dropped their jaws in amazement. I am not afraid of what it can do even if my position as an Engineer is in jeopardy ... our fundamental belief as an Engineer is that you cannot (no one can) stop the progress of technology.

other countries are not so open to accepting ChatGPT platform in their daily operations

I'm very familiar with it along with ML and AI. We will all look back at ChatGPT in the not distant future and realize that we allowed a tech stack to blow through the human race. It will destroy kids to countries. No bueno!

Bullseye! Couldn’t have said it better. Thing is, companies are bringing their own LM (Large Language Model, what ChatGPT is) in house and training it with their own staff so they can use proprietary and secret data on it. Then they hire an entire staff to keep it well “fed” as power said. This has become the norm so now major companies are jumping on board with this AI trend. It’s coming down to this: when there’s a major decision. people will be presented with results from various LM’s like hurricane prediction models! Instead of just human reason. It’s crazy but I doubt it will go to the “terminator” level ie SkyNet But you never know 😐

a relative of mine did 5 years in Beijing working for a top retailer there in market research. ( he did learn that the Chinese wealthy knew it was all over 10 years ago)
He said so funny in meetings, the young staff when asked a question always pull their phone their to search for the answer, big boss says to them, if the answer is on the phone I dont need you, and they didnt get it..
The answer to every problem for mainland chinese is on your phone.
If hungry walking down the street, they get food delivered to where they are standing.
