And that's the kicker. We're all guilty to some extent of the same crime. My perspective is that of controlling where it is and to what extent as best we can. The parameters for "acceptable" always change with more time/data/ and growth. I would argue the scenario in your OP is not so much freedom of choice, but hindrance of economics. I'm guessing the great people of Belize would trade Carbie 200's for the nice (relatively) homes that our poor live in. Conversely, we have the freedom of overpriced goods through a better economic situation, with inflated cost of goods through the false reality of wealth through financing mechanisms. Grass always seems greener, and such.

Where did you move from to SoCal? I came over from Australia to go to university at SDSU.

My company shipped me all over the country from my home base in MN. I came to SD for a project in January. Left home, it was -10F, landed it was 70F. Pretty much made my mind up right there in the airport. I go to your alma mater pretty frequently for concerts, it's a beautiful venue. And I love riding my bicycle around the area as well. North county is nice (no homeless), but I sometimes wish I was back in the downtown area. So much to do. Ironically, if I had stayed up in MN, I could've afforded to get my private pilot's license, its always been a dream. But that sunshine tax...

Spent 14 years in San Diego (Coronado) Loved it, was fortunate enough to live right downtown for a spell in one of the lofts on G street, nightlife was sooo much fun, walk out my front door was was in the middle of the fun zone. Great areas to ride the motorcycle up in the mountains, and could hit Lake Elsinore for some fresh water close boating. Good times

We had opportunity to spend a lot of time in San Pedro BZ over the years and the Yamaha Enduro 2 strokes dominated the boating down there. They are relatively cheap, simple to work on and are pretty reliable in a country that is poor and generally has a very low quality gasoline supply. The big Suzuki four strokes were showing up more and more in recent years but it was always odd to see the "new" Yamaha 2 strokes on water taxi and charter boats.
